UNIFORM

Our school has a uniform and we expect all families to support us in it being worn correctly. Non-uniform items of clothing should not be worn with our school uniform and these may be confiscated. Our uniform is reflective of our school culture and therefore it needs to be worn correctly at all times.

BOYS

  • Grey shirt with grey shorts and Viard socks OR white shirt & Viard College tie with regulation black long dress trousers

  • Red Bishop Viard jersey or vest

  • Black school shoes (shoe defined as below the ankle bone) or in summer roman sandals

  • The formal uniform: Viard tie, white shirt, red college blazer, regulation black long trousers, and black socks (optional Years 11-13)

GIRLS

  • Short-sleeved white open-necked blouse or long-sleeved white blouse with school skirt in green tartan

  • Red Bishop Viard jersey or vest

  • White ankle socks  or full-length black tights (knee-high stockings or short black socks are not permitted)

  • Black school shoes (shoe defined as below the ankle bone), or in summer roman sandals

  • The formal uniform is white blouse, a red college blazer with a regulation tartan skirt. Optional: Viard tie and black tights

  • Standard black jackets may be worn with the uniform during colder months when students are outside

UNIFORM CODE


Students are asked to wear the school uniform tidily with pride and dignity.

Non-uniform Items

  • Other items of clothing should not be worn with school uniform and will be confiscated

  • Minimal jewellery items may be worn (0-5), with a maximum of two piercings in each ear. A watch should be the only piece of jewellery worn on the wrist

  • Make-up and nail polish should not be worn with uniform and any facial hair should be kept tidy

  • Hair colour should be of a single natural toning and hair long enough to tie back should be tied back

  • One item of religious or cultural significance may be worn visibly around the neck, provided it is not deemed by Senior Management to be offensive, contrary to the Catholic Character of the College, or a threat to health and safety. The traditions of the Catholic Church and the provisions of the Treaty of Waitangi with respect to Taonga will be honoured.
