Welcome to Bishop Viard College, Porirua.

We are a Catholic co-educational secondary school in Porirua, established by the Brigidine Sisters and Assumptionist Fathers, in 1968, offering education to students from Years 7-13.

Bishop Viard College is committed to each student’s intellectual, spiritual, emotional, physical, cultural, and social development.  The whole person is encouraged to grow in Christ, and in the awareness that the possession of knowledge is a call to serve others in building the kingdom of God. We aim to nurture a culture of learning, with high expectations, and the pursuit of personal excellence underpinned firmly by Gospel Values.

As well as pursuing academic goals, students are able to take part in a wide range of activities outside the classroom. Everyone enjoys sports, music, service groups and clubs that are part of our school. The time spent at Bishop Viard College helps to prepare our students for life beyond school.
