Bishop Viard College is a PB4L School.  We implement School Wide Expectations School (SWE), through our R.E.A.D.Y expectations – Respect, Engaged Active, Determined, Yes we have Goals.

Our students follow these expectations in learning and in their behaviour.  These expectations also fit in with our four school values. To support our students in developing the skills they need, we offer R.E.A.D.Y points as a reward system.  Students may earn R.E.A.D.Y points when they show R.E.A.D.Y behaviour, for example: Picking up litter without being asked, asking questions in class, completing learning tasks.

The other aspect of PB4L is using Restorative Practices. Our Teachings tell us to act with forgiveness, kindness and compassion.

Colossians 3:13 “Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.”

The restorative process allows students to recognise how their behaviour has affected others, allows them to own their behaviour and it gives them the opportunity to make things right with those they have harmed, whilst also learning through the process at the same time.  We aim to show value for each person as an individual creation of God, respecting their individual dignity.
